Christian Living – ‘The New Way’ (A Fragrance)

“..now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume. Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?” – 2 Corinthians 2:14-16

I love the image of Christ being ‘a sweet perfume’!

When you smell something sweet and pleasant it grabs your attention, it invigorates the senses, and fuses images of the circumstances around you to your memories. When you make a decision to live and breathe Christ everything changes! When we accept what Christ has done for us (His death and resurrection) and invite him into our lives he takes up residence In Us and actively fuses His life to ours. Our decision making, our thoughts and feelings are now influenced by a life-giving spirit that has taken refuge within.

It is your default sinful nature to adhere to the world and its ways, but today be reminded that once Christ dwells in you and you acknowledge the life-giving spirit within you will be perceived very differently by people.

“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” – 2 Corinthians 1:21-22

Christ is the New Way, the old is but a shadow.

    • Awesome, I only just hit my 100th post. It’s amazing how God brings insight through his living word and every time you approach a verse it lives out a new meaning! Welcome on board WordPress, I’m finding it a great platform and better than most I have used in past.. Blessings, Daniel.
