In seeking understanding, I suggest we put aside what we have beeen told and taught by man, and seek to discover a Truth that only comes through Christ pondering on His Word.

Enjoy these articles, be sure to read them thoroughly and in order as Frank suggests. Be very interested to hear if they challenge your views.

Re-Discovering why the early church were obsessed with Jesus

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

If I could summarise in one sentence what has the modern church today has lost sight of, it would be this; We work so hard to inject all our knowledge, skills, resources, money and energy into our churches and ministries and have lost sight of the only one true thing that we need – that is Christ Jesus our Lord.

The bible confirms for us that Christ is our rock, our foundation. He is the truth, our life, the only way. We know our heavenly father through Christ, and we received His spirit because of what Christ did for us. All things were created in Him, by Him and Through Him. We know that through repentance and acceptance of him we have eternal life. He know dwells IN us through His spirit.

If I could sum up Christ it would be that he is our ‘All – In –All’

All born again Christians will acknowledge the role of Christ as being pivotal in having a relationship with God, but when it comes to living, Christ doesn’t become the foundation and mainstay of everything they say and do.

The early church were labelled as ‘followers of the way’ because they taught, lived and breathed Christ in every area of their life.. Its time we rekindled our relationships with our first love and made him preeminent and supreme and placed Him at the centre of everything in our lives. I believe this is what is changing the face of Christianity today. People are rediscovering this a Truth that is only found In Him.

Awakening has one goal – To know Christ, function as His body and be built up into Him.

Colossians 1:15-22 sheds light on this eternal truth.

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For IN him ALL things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created THROUGH him and FOR him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have ALL HIS fullness dwell IN him, and through him to reconcile to himself ALL things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds

because of your evil behaviour. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.”

Reflecting on Worship – “In Spirit and In Truth”

Well its good to be back! It feels like its been too long since I have had time to sit down and share with you all.

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” – John 4:23-24

The Holy Spirit in me searched the meaning to this verse and I have discovered a depth to it that has brought conviction to my core. When I ponder the word ‘worship’, I usually think of a 1 hour session in church on a sunday.. or the latest hit just released by Hillsong. The fact that we have mixed ideas about ‘worship’, reflects on our diverse ways we seek Gods face and return to Him the Glory He deserves.

What if, our preconcieved ideas and perception of worship.. were all wrong? What if Gods Word says one thing and our default was the do the opposite..?

I was deeply challenged when I realised that worshiping God demands absolute Truth, a kind of ‘Spritual Truth’ that I had not considered before attempting any form of worship before. When I sat back and thought about the usual worship service on a sunday, or the quetimes I have been devoting to God, I realised that on many occassions I had NOT been absolutely Truthful and honest to Him. The Holy Spirit convicted me to be more truthful in my weakness, and not to be afraid to be seen needing Him.

Know that your default sinful nature says wants you to approach God in worship being full of shame, doubt and undeservingfear. If we realise that we are weak, be honest today when you chat to God and he will attend to your every need. Allow the Holy Spirit to identify where you have not been truthful, and allow Christ to minister to you in your weakness.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me”. – 2 Corinithians 12:9
