I recently shared my vision with a pastor on the below verses and he said it was not possible and that it was quote “unachievable”.. we spoke about Unity in the church and the priesthood of all believers.
Today I stand firm in Christ and challenge that response, I believe that a church divided is ineffective and lost, and church united in Christ can withstand anything ‘the world’ can throw at it. I find it ironic that for years man has tried to be a unified front of believers in their own strength and not relied on the Holy Spirit to ‘bring’ unity between believers in His Strength.. thats gotta change!
I’m honestly encouraged that persecution has commenced as I believe that Satan is getting worked up by the prayer and ‘spreading the gospel’ that has been going on in our groups. A great friend told me recently “Satan only confronts those in the battle, if you’re not facing challenges head-on each day, then maybe you’re not in the right place?”
1 Cor 12:12-27
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free —and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honourable we treat with special honour. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honour to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
1 Peter 2:9-10
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Christ is the rock, the solid foundation that cannot be swept away. Jesus is the cornerstone of all that is to be built of Gods Kingdom here on earth. We are a chosen people that were designed to be brought together ‘in and through Christ’ and to become a unified functional body where He can dwell here on earth. What God has joined, let man not separate.
Now for my bold quote for today: “Lets undo the last 1600 years of church malice, hate, selfishness and segregation and replace it with faith, hope, love and unity. Then lets start a new trend for the next 1600 years!”
Pray for us as you read this.
