Christ is Above All and In All – Allow Christ to Dwell In You

Christians have made the gospel about so many things … things other than Christ.

Jesus Christ is the gravitational pull that brings everything together and gives them significance, reality, and meaning. Without him, all things lose their value. Without him, all things are but detached pieces floating around in space.

It is possible to emphasize a spiritual truth, value, virtue, or gift, yet miss Christ . . . who is the embodiment and incarnation of all spiritual truth, values, virtues, and gifts.

Seek a truth, a value, a virtue, or a spiritual gift, and you have obtained something dead.

Seek Christ, embrace Christ, know Christ, and you have touched him who is Life. And in him resides all Truth, Values, Virtues and Gifts in living color. Beauty has its meaning in the beauty of Christ, in whom is found all that makes us lovely and loveable.

“Christians don’t follow Christianity; Christians follow Christ.”

My prayer today:

May God have a people on this earth who are a people of Christ, through Christ, and for Christ. A people of the cross. A people who are consumed with God’s eternal passion, which is to make his Son preeminent, supreme, and the head over all things visible and invisible. A people who have discovered the touch of the Almighty in the face of his glorious Son. A people who wish to know only Christ and him crucified, and to let everything else fall by the wayside. A people who are laying hold of his depths, discovering his riches, touching his life, and receiving his love, and making HIM in all of his unfathomable glory known to others.

  1. Hi Daniel

Great post mate. And Viola sadly mentions that “That Christ has been relegated to a foot note in the church”. This Jesus manifesto seek to place the correct emphasis on why the church exists, for Christ, from Christ, to Christ and through Christ !

    It’s All about Jesus !

  2. Just finished reading ‘Jesus Manifesto’ for the second time.. I love learning as much about Christ as I can. I think I need to pray for a special ability to read faster and deeper! lol (then i could get through more books!)
The funny thing is that since rediscovering Christ in a fresh new and exciting way I havent been able to stop learning, reading and talking Jesus! Its exciting, i am a life being changed by the spirit of God – Just like Romans 8 depicts so vividly! The person of the Holy Spirit has come become real for me and I am seeing all creation groaning for Christs return – everywhere I look!
God Bless brother, be encouraged that what you are praying for is being born in heaven and then revealed hear on earth!

  3. thanks Dan,
I find it really funny that one of Jesus nicknames is “the Word” (eg John 1), and yet the only record of his own writing seems to be some mysterious scratching in the dirt defending a victimised woman… many hundreds of years later his followers became known by muslims as “the people of the book”… but really we should be the “people of spirit and truth”
I wonder if by 600AD there had been a little more “spirit and truth” type of christianity and a little less “bookish legalism” that perhaps the muslim faith would never have emerged… ?
sorry gone off on a tangent… love the Book, I don’t think Christians cherish it and read it enough…. and when we read it I think we often miss the main point.

I love the expression “Christ in you, the hope of glory!”
